This week was a little more of challenge to get motivated. Not because I am anywhere close to running out of ideas to serve my community, but that the cold had taken over my household. For the past couple weeks, a lot of my time was consumed with taking care of a sick little baby and a sick husband. Now that they are well, I guess it was Mom's turn. So, as you can tell from my house, which still has Christmas decorations up in the inside, (sorry for all of you anal readers, but I just didn't have the energy) I needed to come up with a low effort idea.

Conveniently, this week also marked the very first big snow of the season. This provided a lot of opportunities for cute ways to serve others. So, what do I like to do when it snows? I like to drink coffee. I love to wear warm socks and hoodies. I love to snuggle with my hubby in a blanket. I also love, love, love a good movie or book. This lead to the idea of renting a Redbox, and I was certain that many people would also be thinking the same thing. This created a perfect opportunity. Why not leave a dollar for the next person to rent a movie, as well? For this "intentional act" all I did was tape my Pretty Feet slips to a $1 and then tape it to our local Redbox less than 2 miles down the road. Super easy!!
Now, I can't take credit for this idea completely. Over the Christmas holiday I happen to run across a young woman's blog who decided to do random acts in her community over Christmas. The Redbox idea was just one of her many acts of kindness she did this past season. Her blog touched my heart so much that it inspired me to do the same throughout the year. I had to do a little bit of re-investigating since I do not know this woman personally, but I wanted to give her credit where credit is due. If you would like to look at her blog, which is much nicer than mine, it is www.elainajanes.blogspot.com. You should check it out! :)
Happy snow day to all!!
