Week Five

If you have known me for more than a of couple months, you probably can name what I absolutely loathe the most. It truly is my arch nemesis and I am tempted to set this place on fire every time I go (don't worry, I haven't come close... yet). LOL You have probably guessed it, because many of you share my disgust for the one and only Walmart!

Even though I could go on and on about the many reasons I try to avoid this store at all costs, there are several things about it that are positive. First, the ability to get everything you need in one stop any time of the day! Second, the pure joy of people watching. And lastly, the very sweet Walmart greeters. I absolutely love being greeted by the smiles of elderly men and women who just enjoy being around other people.

So, since it is inevitable that I would have to grace the four walls of Walmart on occasion, I thought I would try to make the day of a lady who makes my experience just a little more bearable. This evening, a she was greeting people, taking their carts, and making returns with the biggest smile!! I am sure this is not the easiest task all the time! I thought that it would be a nice gesture to let this lady know that her hard work and pleasant spirit was not overlooked.

After my shopping experience was complete, I picked up a bouquet of tulips for just $5, stuck in a "Pretty Feet" slip and handed it to her on the way out! I could tell that she was very appreciative and kept repeating what a treat it was. Usually, I attempt to do my deeds as inconspicuous as possible, but Walmart in the evening makes it rather difficult. However, I did notice one lady was watching and let the lady know how  "cool" it was to watch. Who knows? Maybe she will pass it on now that she has witnessed the effects of one small act of kindness!
